What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into focused intervals.

How it works:

  1. Choose a task you want to work on
  2. Set the timer for 25 minutes (one "Pomodoro")
  3. Work focused until the timer rings
  4. Take a short break (5 minutes)
  5. After 4 Pomodoros, take a longer break (15-30 minutes)

Why it's effective:

  • Reduces mental fatigue through regular breaks
  • Improves focus by creating urgency with time constraints
  • Tracks progress through completed sessions
  • Prevents burnout with scheduled rest periods
  • Boosts motivation by making large tasks manageable

Pro tip: During your Pomodoro, eliminate all distractions and focus solely on your chosen task. If an interruption occurs, either deal with it quickly or note it down for later.
